I've never given much thought to the 'jobs' of the month, but I'm beginning to now! I wonder if your noticing powers have just gotten stronger? Tough topic in the way July has affected so many, but beautifully written! 💞
I like your question, Julia. My weather thoughts for today: sadness at all that aggressive and oppressive heat you’ve described. Has August been any kinder? 💛✨
This July has indeed been cruel Julia I am hoping August will be kinder
I will have to ponder on job descriptions for months but I do remember this poem by Sara Coleridge
The Garden Year
January brings the snow, makes our feet and fingers glow.
February brings the rain, Thaws the frozen lake again.
March brings breezes loud and shrill, stirs the dancing daffodil.
April brings the primrose sweet, Scatters daisies at our feet.
May brings flocks of pretty lambs, Skipping by their fleecy dams.
June brings tulips, lilies, roses, Fills the children's hand with posies.
Hot July brings cooling showers, Apricots and gillyflowers.
August brings the sheaves of corn, Then the Harvest home is borne.
Warm September brings the fruit, Sportsmen then begin to shoot.
Fresh October brings the pheasant; Then to gather nuts is pleasant.
Dull November brings the blast, Then the leaves are falling fast.
Chill December brings the sleet, Blazing fire and Christmas treat.
Also now pondering about job descriptions for months... 🤔 You have captured this long hot July very well, aggressive is a good word.
It seems to be becoming a series but we’ll see
It is quite a good idea for a series I think 👍
I’ll keep that in mind!

Let’s hope August is gentler.
